Disclosed is a start motor capable of increasing connection strength of a support pin. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the start motor comprises: a motor unit; an output shaft rotated by a rotary shaft of the motor unit and having a pinion, which is engaged with an engine side ring gear, coupled to be able to slide; a planetary gear reducer to reduce a rotational speed of the rotary shaft; and an overrunning clutch including an outer rotated by idling of the planetary gears of the planetary gear reducer so as to transfer rotational force of the rotary shaft reduced through the planetary gear reducer to the output shaft and prevent the rotational force of the output shaft from being transferred to the rotary shaft.
