35- COMPOSITION COMPRISING 35-DICAFFEOYLQUINIC ACID OR EXTRACT OF CHRYSANTHEMUM AS AN EFFECTIVE INGREDIENT FOR PREVENTING OR TREATING OF MUSCULAR DISORDER OR IMPROVEMENT OF MUSCULAR FUNCTIONS

The present invention relates to a composition containing a chrysanthemum extract and 3, 5-dicaffeoylquinic acid as active ingredients for preventing or treating muscular diseases, and more specifically, to a composition which reduces expression of mRNA of atrogin-1 and MuRF-1, which are major biomarkers involved in muscle protein degradation in muscle cells, and reduces muscle loss by increasing expression of an mTOR protein, which is a major biomarker involved in formation of a muscle protein, and expression of mRNA of myogenin and MyoD, which are biomarkers related to muscle differentiation, thereby being used for preventing and treating muscular diseases, or improving muscular functions. In addition, the chrysanthemum extract or 3, 5-dicaffeoylquinic increases activity of SIRT1 and PCG-1α, which are major biomarkers involved in exercise performance, thereby remarkably improving exercise performance.
