Zusammenfassung:Disclosed are an austenitic stainless steel having excellent hot workability and corrosion resistance, and a manufacturing method thereof. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the austenitic stainless steel comprises: 0.05 weight percent or less of C; 1.0 to 2.0 weight percent or less of Si; 1.0 weight percent or less of Mn (excluding 0 weight percent); 5.0 to 9.0 weight percent of Ni; 15.0 to 18.0 weight percent of Cr; 0.05 weight percent or less of N; 2.0 to 5.0 weight percent of Cu; 0.5 to 2.0 weight percent of Mo; 0.05 to 0.5 weight percent of Sn; 0.5 to 1.0 weight percent of W; and the remainder being Fe and unavoidable impurities, wherein an sulfuric acid atmosphere corrosion resistance index (SCI), defined as SCI = -Cr + 4Ni + 5(Mo + 0.5W) + 12Cu, is 50 or more. 열간 가공성 및 내식성이 우수한 오스테나이트계 스테인리스강 및 이의 제조 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 오스테나이트계 스테인리스강은, 중량%로 C: 0.05% 이하, Si: 1.0 내지 2.0% 이하, Mn: 1.0% 이하(0 제외), Ni: 5.0 내지 9.0%, Cr: 15.0 내지 18.0%, N: 0.05% 이하, Cu: 2.0 내지 5.0%, Mo: 0.5 내지 2.0%, Sn: 0.05 내지 0.5%, W: 0.5 내지 1.0%, 잔부 Fe 및 기타 불가피한 불순물을 포함하며, 하기 식 (1)로 정의되는 SCI(내황산부식지수)가 50 이상이다.
