Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing overbased magnesium sulfonate which is useful as additives for detergents and lubricants. The method comprises the steps of: (A) preparing a mixture by using the combination of polyisobutene succinic anhydrides having a molecular weight (M_w) of 500 to 1,500 g mol^(-1) and a salicylic acid used as first and second accelerants, magnesium oxides with a sulfonic acid or salt of the same, water, C_1 to C_5 alkanols, and a hydrocarbon solvent; and (B) preparing overbased magnesium sulfonates by carbonizing the mixture with acidic gas. 과염기형 마그네슘 설포네이트 세정제는, (A) 설폰산 또는 염과 마그네슘 옥사이드, 물, C-C알칸올, 탄화수소 용매, 및 제 1 및 제 2 촉진제로서의 분자량(M)이 500 내지 1500 g mol인 폴리이소부텐 숙신산 무수물과 살리실산의 조합의 혼합물을 제조하는 단계; 및 (B) 상기 혼합물을 산성 기체에 의해 탄화시켜 과염기형 마그네슘 설포네이트를 형성하는 단계에 의해 제조된다.
