Riboflavin is able to inhibit transduction of signals of itchiness by blocking current generated by histamine which is a major causative element of itchiness, thereby being highly effective in reducing or alleviating itchiness caused by pruritus, pruritus on scalp, or allergy. 본 발명은 리보플라빈을 함유하는 가려움증 억제 또는 완화용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 상기 리보플라빈은 가려움의 주된 요소의 하나인 히스타민에 의해 발생되는 전류 차단을 통해 가려움증 정보 전달을 저해함으로써, 가려움증, 두피 가려움증 또는 알러지에 의한 가려움증 등을 억제 또는 완화하는데 매우 효과적이다.
