The purpose of the present invention is to provide a coating material composition and a can lid having excellent contaminated content resistance and alkali resistance and capable of forming a coating film for which the workability does not easily decline with the passage of time. In order to solve this technical problem, the coating material composition comprises: a polyester resin (A) with an acid number of at most 30 mgKOH/g and with a glass transition temperature exceeding 25 degrees Celsius and at most 40 degrees Celsius; a polyester resin (B) with an acid number of at most 30 mgKOH/g and a glass transition temperature of 45-85 degrees Celsius; and a phenol resin (C). The polyester resin (A) is a resin obtained by reacting a polycarboxylic acid (a) and a polyol (b), wherein, of a total 100 mol% of the polycarboxylic acid (a), it is preferable to comprise terephthalic acid at 15-35 mol%, isophthalic acid at 55-80 mol%, and any monomer selected from the group consisting of sebacic acid, adipic acid, and 1, 4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid at 1-10 mol%, and wherein, of a total 100 mol% of the polyol (b), it is preferable to comprise 1, 4-butanediol at 40-80 mol% and a diol having a carbon number of 2 or 3 at 5-35 mol%.
