Zusammenfassung:The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device having a COT structure. The liquid crystal display device according to the present invention includes a gate line and a data line arranged on a substrate to intersect with each other and thus to define a plurality of pixel regions; a common electrode provided on the data line and including an opening; and a pixel electrode formed so as to be spaced apart from the common electrode. It is possible to reduce an electric field imbalance between the common electrode and the pixel electrode due to the size deviation of the adjacent pixel electrode and common electrode, thereby improving brightness. 본 발명은 COT 구조의 액정 표시 장치를 제공하는 것으로, 본 발명에 따른 액정 표시 장치는 기판 상에 게이트 라인과 데이터 라인이 서로 교차하도록 배열되어 복수의 화소 영역을 정의하고 데이터 라인 상에 개구부를 포함하여 구비된 공통 전극 및 공통 전극으로부터 이격되도록 구비된 화소 전극을 포함함으로써 인접한 화소 전극과 공통 전극의 크기 편차에 따른 공통 전극과 화소 전극 간의 전계 불균형을 줄여 휘도를 개선할 수 있다.
