Zusammenfassung:The present invention provides a system to clean an image receiving surface in an inkjet printer and a method thereof, to clean an image receiving surface with a surface processing material. According to the present invention, a printer cleaning apparatus includes a roller cleaning an image receiving surface with a surface processing material and having a cylindrical perforated wall surrounded by a foamed material. The cylindrical wall has an inner volume to maintain liquid pumped into the inner volume by a pump. The liquid compressed while the roller is moved to be engaged with the image receiving surface is supplied to the foamed material through the cylindrical wall. The roller is rotated in a direction opposite to a moving direction of the image receiving surface in order to help that the foamed material scrubs the image receiving surface and the liquid is supplied onto the surface. As the roller is moved away from the surface, the foamed material is expanded in order to facilitate adsorption of the liquid and remove materials from the image receiving surface.
