Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed are a method and an application for providing a climbing information service which can be utilized as an excellent means to have a sense of competition of a climbing club and activate the club. The method for providing a climbing information service comprises: a recognizing step of recognizing an occupied point of a predetermined trail through a camera of a mobile terminal; an inquiring step of comparing an image of the occupied point recognized by the camera with an image of an occupied point provided in a database in advance; and an occupying step of checking that a user of a corresponding mobile terminal occupies a corresponding trail when the occupied point of the camera is coincident with the occupied point of the database. 모바일단말기의 카메라를 통해 미리 정해진 등산로의 점령지점을 인식하는 인식단계; 카메라로 인식된 점령지점의 이미지를 데이터베이스에 미리 마련된 점령지점의 이미지와 대조하는 조회단계; 및 카메라의 점령지점과 데이터베이스의 점령지점이 일치하는 경우 해당 모바일단말기의 사용자가 해당 등산로를 점령한 것으로 체크하는 점령단계;를 포함하는 등산 정보 서비스 제공방법 및 어플리케이션이 소개된다.
