Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for recognizing an object shape, capable of recognizing an object shape. The apparatus comprises: a light emitting unit including a light source and placed on a first layer among a plurality of layers; a light receiving unit including at least one sensor corresponding to the light source and placed on other layers excepting for the first layer; and a determination unit measuring the object shape, based on a degree of deviation of the sensor, corresponding to the light source.
