Zusammenfassung:According to the present invention, a stereoscopic image display device is configured to modify a 3D image by modifying view data, when a viewer is not within a range of an optimized viewing distance, generate a disparity map in order not to display an stepped area generated by the modified 3D image, convert the generated disparity map into a binary code and expand an area of the disparity map, and prevent the stepped area from being recognized in an image, by preventing the stepped area from being located in the expanded disparity map. The present invention provides a stereoscopic image display device to allow a viewer to watch a 3D image, even if the viewer is not within a range of an optimized viewing distance. 본 발명의 입체영상표시장치에서는 시청자가 최적시청거리 이외의 거리에 위치할 때 뷰데이터를 수정하여 3D영상을 수정하며, 수정된 3D영상에 발생하는 단차를 표시하지 않기 위해 디스패리티맵을 생성하고 생성된 디스패리티맵의 이진화한 후 디스패리티맵의 영역을 확장하고 확장된 디스패리티맵에 단차영역이 위치하지 않도록 함으로써 영상에서 단차를 인식하지 않도록 한다.
