METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETERMINEING APPROPRIATENESS OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL CYCLE

Disclosed are a method and a device for determining appropriateness of a traffic signal cycle to calculate a traffic volume in accordance with a traffic signal cycle and associated with the speed of a vehicle and to determine whether or not the traffic signal cycle of an intersection is appropriately set through a comparison between the calculated heterogeneous traffic volumes. According to the present invention, the method comprises the following steps: calculating a signal cycle traffic volume in accordance with a traffic signal cycle of an intersection on a measurement point inside a road connected to the intersection; calculating a point traffic volume by using the speed of a vehicle passing the measurement point; and determining whether or not the traffic signal cycle of the intersection is appropriate by comparing the signal cycle traffic volume and the point traffic volume. 교통 신호주기에 따른 교통량과, 차량의 속도와 관련한 교통량을 계산하고, 계산된 이들 이종의 교통량 간의 비교를 통해, 교차로 신호주기가 적절하게 설정되어 있는지를 판별하는 교통 신호주기의 적정성 판별 방법과 장치를 개시한다. 본 발명에 따른 교통 신호주기의 적정성 판별 방법은, 교차로와 연결된 도로 내 측정지점에서, 교차로 신호주기에 따른 신호주기 교통량을 계산하는 단계와, 상기 측정지점을 지나는 차량의 차량 속도를 이용하여, 지점 교통량을 계산하는 단계, 및 상기 신호주기 교통량과 상기 지점 교통량을 비교하여, 상기 교차로 신호주기가 적절한지를 판단하는 단계를 포함하여 구성한다.
