MULTIMEDIA DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

A multimedia device and a method for controlling the same are disclosed. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a multimedia device includes a display unit outputting video data, and a control unit outputting a menu bar on the video data when a first signal is received from a remote controller. The menu bar includes a channel designated as a preferred channel, a channel that has been watched for a predetermined period of time, an application that has run a predetermined number of times, recommended content, a plurality of icons related to at least one of a recommended application and a recommended channel, and an icon corresponding to a certain user.
