It is an object of the present invention to provide a mobile terminal having a new type of body by using a flexible display unit which can be folded or bent. It is another object of the present invention to provide a mobile terminal in which different parts of a display unit forming a single plane are overlapped with each other by bending. 본 발명은 디스플레이부의 적어도 일부가 휘어지거나, 구부러지는 것이 가능한 이동 단말기 및 그 제어 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따른 이동 단말기는, 제1부분, 상기 제1부분의 일측에 형성되는 제1경계부를 기준으로 회전가능하게 형성되는 제2부분 및 상기 제2부분의 일측에 형성되는 제2경계부를 기준으로 회전가능하게 형성되는 제3부분을 포함하는 플렉서블 디스플레이부; 및 상기 제1부분, 제2부분 및 제3부분 중 적어도 하나에 가해지는 기 설정된 터치입력에 근거하여, 상기 제1부분, 제2부분 및 제3부분 중 적어도 하나에 출력되는 화면정보를 제어하며, 상기 제1경계부 및 제2경계부 중 적어도 하나를 기준으로 하는 회전이 감지됨에 근거하여, 상기 제1부분, 제2부분 및 제3부분 중 적어도 하나에 출력되는 화면정보를 제어하는 제어부;를 포함한다.
