Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a smart key apparatus to realize an automated fare collection system and a communications method using the same. According to an aspect of the present invention, a smart key apparatus comprises: a first transceiver communicating with a gantry of a tollgate; a second transceiver communicating with an FOB; and a control unit transmitting an operation command signal to at least one of the first transceiver and the second transceiver in accordance with a vehicle driving situation determined by using a sensor value which a sensor unit acquires. 본 발명은 자동요금 징수 시스템을 구현하는 스마트 키 장치 및 이를 이용한 통신 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 일면에 따른 스마트 키 장치는 톨게이트의 겐트리와 통신하는 제1 송수신부와, FOB와 통신하는 제2 송수신부 및 센서부가 획득한 센서값을 이용하여 판단한 차량의 주행 상황 여부에 따라, 제1 송수신부 및 제2 송수신부 중 적어도 어느 하나에 대하여 동작 명령 신호를 전송하는 제어부를 포함한다.
