Zusammenfassung:	A Lactobacillus kefiri MJ90 strain of the present invention can treat or prevent constipation by fermenting cassia seeds. Accordingly, lactic acid bacteria-fermented cassia seeds for treating or preventing constipation, prepared using the novel strain of the present invention, are safe and unlikely to cause side effects as an herb medicine. The lactic acid bacteria-fermented cassia seeds also exhibit an effect of increasing at least one of the number, water content, or weight of feces over that of the commercial product Dulcolax®-S containing sennocide, or bisacodyl and docusate sodium, which are irritant constipation treatment agents banned from using in functional health food due to the problem of side effects.
