Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a composition for activating AMP activated protein kinase, comprising reserpine as an active ingredient and, more specifically, to a composition for promoting catabolism of body fat, comprising reserpine as an active ingredient. In addition, the present invention relates to a novel use of reserpine used in clinical diseases, and can be easily applied to prevention and treatment of diseases requiring AMPK activation. 본 발명은 레세르핀을 유효성분으로 하는 AMP활성화 단백질 인산화효소(AMPK) 활성화용 조성물에 관한 것으로 더욱 상세하게는 레세르핀을 유효성분으로 하는 체지방 이화작용 촉진용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 임상적으로 사용되고 있는 레세르핀 물질의 새로운 용도를 찾아낸 것으로 AMPK 활성화가 필요한 질환을 예방 및 치료하는데 쉽게 적용될 수 있어 효과적이다.
