엔진을 구비하고, 엔진의 엔진 회전수에 대한 최대 토크 영역에서 구동 가능한 엔진의 토크-회전수의 영역을 나타내는 제 1 토크선도와, 상기 제 1 토크선도의 영역에 있는 제 2 토크선도를 유지하고, 건설 기계의 조작을 실시하기 위한 조작 레버의 레버 조작량 및/또는 건설 기계에 걸리는 부하에 따라 상기 제 1 토크선도에서 상기 제 2 토크선도로 이행시켜 상기 제 2 토크선도 상에서 엔진 회전수를 변화시키고, 상기 제 2 토크선도 상에서 부하의 경감에 따라 엔진의 회전수를 저하시키는 엔진 제어를 실시하는 건설 기계에 있어서, 미리 설정된 복수의 작업 모드 중에서 특정 모드가 선택된 경우, 상기 엔진 제어를 오프로 하여, 레버 조작량 및/또는 건설 기계에 걸리는 부하의 변동에 관계없이, 엔진 회전수가 스로틀 다이얼의 설정량에 따른 값이 되는 제어를 실시하는 컨트롤러를 구비한다.
