Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to a cylindrical secondary battery and a manufacturing method thereof. The cylindrical secondary battery includes an electrode assembly which includes an anode plate, a cathode plate, a separator interposed between the anode plate and the cathode plate, an anode tab which is attached to the anode plate, and a cathode plate which is attached to the cathode plate, and a cylindrical can which receives the electrode assembly. The end of the cathode tab is bonded on the bottom of the cylindrical can by a friction stir spot welding. The present invention reduces material costs and improves performance based on the reduced resistance of secondary battery by applying the cathode tab of Cu material by bonding heterogeneous metal regardless of an electrical feature. 본 발명은 원통형 이차전지 및 원통형 이차전지의 제조방법에 관한 것으로서, 양극판과, 음극판과, 상기 양극판과 상기 음극판의 사이에 개재되는 분리막과, 상기 양극판에 부착되는 양극탭과, 상기 음극판에 부착되는 음극탭을 포함하는 전극조립체와; 상기 전극조립체를 내부에 수납하는 원통형 캔을 포함하며, 상기 음극탭의 말단은 상기 원통형 캔의 바닥에 마찰교반점접합으로 접합되는 것을 특징으로 한다. 본 발명에 의하면, 전기적 성질에 상관 없이 이종금속을 접합할 수 있어 구리 재질의 음극탭을 적용할 수 있으므로, 원가 절감 및 이차전지 저항 감소에 따른 성능을 개선할 수 있다.
