DISPLAY APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

The present invention provides a display apparatus and a method for controlling the same wherein an image can be displayed on a visible screen consisting of multiple display units by transferring the display units. The display apparatus of the present invention includes: the first display unit which displays the first screen; the second display unit which displays the second screen; and a control unit which controls a region of one visible screen consisting of the first screen and the second screen to be changed by changing at least one region of the first screen of the first display unit and the second screen of the second display unit, and also controls the first portion and the second portion to be displayed on the first screen and the second screen, respectively by determining the first portion and the second portion of the image to make the region of the visible screen correspond to a region of the image to be displayed. Accordingly, even when images with various aspect ratios are displayed, a user can watch one image as the first portion and the second portion of the image are determined to make the region of the visible screen, formed by movement of the second display unit, correspond to the region of the image to be displayed.
