Zusammenfassung:Disclosed are a self-directed learning device, and a method for providing electronic learning using the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided is a self-directed learning device for providing additional learning materials using a learning providing device. The self-directed learning device comprises: a storage unit which stores a plurality of individual additional learning materials (wherein the individual additional learning materials include visual information, which can be visually recognized, and auditory information, which can be acoustically recognized); a first display unit which displays image information on a screen; a sensing unit which senses the touch state of the screen displaying the image information; a second display unit which displays the individual additional learning materials in the form of multilayered content, depending on the sensing state sensed by the sensing unit; and an output unit which outputs individual additional learning materials corresponding to the image information chosen by a user. The output unit includes: an auditory information output unit which outputs the auditory information if the individual additional learning materials are auditory information; and a visual information output unit which outputs the visual information if the individual additional learning materials are visual information.
