Zusammenfassung:	Methods, apparatus, and computer program products for operating a network node of a computer network are provided. A network node of a first synchronization island detects that at least one communication port(s) of the network node is connected to a network node of a second synchronization island. The first synchronization island and the second synchronization island are synchronized to different master clocks. The network node acquires an announce message from the communication port connected to the second synchronization island, the message including operational parameters of a master clock of the second synchronization island. The operational parameters include a priority parameter representing priority of the master clock of the second synchronization island. The network node overwrites automatically the priority parameter of the message by a new priority parameter indicating the priority of the master clock of the second synchronization island is lower than the priority of master clock(s) of the first synchronization island.
