Real time position tracking system and method thereof

A real-time position tracking system using a Wi-Fi wireless LAN which can communicate with a number of mobile terminals includes: a number of wireless APs relaying a radio signal of the Wi-Fi wireless LAN; a target mobile terminal which extracts first wireless AP information of each wireless AP, by communicating with the wireless APs transmitting the radio signal, among the wireless APs, and selects a sub mobile terminal among the mobile terminals and communicates with the selected sub mobile terminal, and extracts information of the selected sub mobile terminal; a sub mobile terminal which communicates with the target mobile terminal according to response, if it is selected from the target mobile terminal, and extracts second wireless AP information of each wireless AP, by communicating with the wireless APs transmitting the radio signal, among the wireless APs; and a position tracking server which calculates absolute position area of the target mobile terminal and absolute position area of the sub mobile terminal by receiving the first wireless AP information and the second wireless AP information, and corrects the absolute position area of the target mobile terminal by calculating relative position area between the target mobile terminal and the sub mobile terminal by receiving information of the selected sub mobile terminal. Accordingly, the real-time position tracking system can track an accurate position by narrowing a margin of error of the absolute position of the target mobile terminal.
