Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed are an apparatus for controlling a tundish preheater and a control method thereof. The apparatus for controlling a preheater comprises: an air valve controlling the quantity of air supplied to a preheating burner of a tundish; a CO detecting unit detecting the content of carbon monoxide in the tundish; and a control unit which operates the air valve by calculating the opening of the air valve so that the inner temperature of the tundish meets the target temperature and operates the air valve by controlling the opening of the air valve according to the CO detection value which is input from the CO detecting unit.
