Zusammenfassung:An objective of the present invention is to provide a method of operating a blowing lance (2), especially an oxygen blowing lance, to blow gas (8) into a metal melting vessel (1). The blowing lance (2), preferably a lance head (4), which is replaceable with a new one, includes at least one ultrasonic nozzle. An objective of the present invention is to provide a method of continuously detect operating parameter measurement signals used to control the method of operating the blowing lance, especially oxygen blowing lance to blow gas into the metal melting vessel. In order to accomplish the above object, especially a blowing process during the operation of the blowing lance (2); preferably an oxygen blowing process by at least one detector or sensor provided on a region for an ultrasonic nozzle in the lance head (4), inflow pressure (p_0t) and/or an inflow temperature (T_0t) of the gas, and/or a vibration amplitude of the blowing lance (2), and/or a vibration frequency (ω) of the gas from the ultrasonic nozzle, and/or an ignition time point an oxygen blowing process and/or an ignition point of the oxygen blowing process are especially continuously detected and/or measured. In this case, the acquired measurement signal(s) are transmitted to an estimation and/or process control unit connected to at least one detector or sensors (9a, 9b), preferably on line during the operation of the blowing lance (2) to control the operation of the blowing lance (2).
