SEMICONDUCTOR MEMORY DEVICE WITH DLL AND THEREFORE METHOD

A synchronous semiconductor memory device having a delay locked loop (DLL) having low power consumption and good jitter is disclosed. An operation control method in the semiconductor memory device includes the steps of carrying out DLL locking in response to DLL reset and measuring loop delay of the DLL. Additionally, the DLL can be powered off when the measured loop delay information and the DLL locking information are stored and a command is carried out with latency being controlled and command path delay being controlled by using the stored loop delay information and the DLL locking information without intervention of DLL.
