Zusammenfassung:Provided is a wheel type work machine which can easily check peripheral conditions of a vehicle when driving. According to the present invention, a wheel type hydraulic shovel (1) includes: a rear surveillance camera (9); a monitor device (11) displaying multiple sets of information; a driving manipulation unit (12) inputting a driving manipulation of a vehicle; a monitor controller (15) controlling a display operation of the monitor device (11); and a drivability determination unit (22) determining the drivability of the vehicle by the driving manipulation unit (12) based on the input by the driving manipulation unit (12). The monitor device (11) includes a first display screen (11a) displaying basic information on the operation of the vehicle; and a second display screen (11b) displaying information other than the basic information together with the display of the first display screen (11a). The monitor controller (15) includes a display change determination unit priorly displaying an image of the rear surveillance camera (9) on the second display screen (11b) when driving the vehicle by the driving manipulation unit (12) is determined to be possible by the drivability determination unit (22).
