ACCELERATOR PEDAL CONTROL APPARATUS FOR ECO DRIVING AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

The present invention relates to an acceleration pedal control apparatus for inducing eco driving and a control method thereof. The acceleration pedal control apparatus according to the present invention includes a detection unit for detecting the speed and acceleration of a vehicle and the degree of opening of a throttle valve; a pedal restricting unit for restricting the pivot movement of the acceleration pedal and generating a torque reaction force to transmit the force to the acceleration pedal; and a control unit for controlling the operation of the pedal restricting unit based on the speed and acceleration of the vehicle and the degree of opening of the throttle valve which are detected by the detection unit. Therefore, an allowable range of an output signal voltage value of a throttle position sensor is set according to the speed and acceleration of the vehicle. When the detected output signal voltage value exceeds the allowable range, the pivot movement of the acceleration pedal is restricted, and the torque reaction force is transmitted to a driver.
