PIXEL CIRCUIT OF AN ORGANIC LIGHT EMITTING DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE SAME

A pixel circuit of an organic light emitting display device comprises a storage capacitor having a first electrode and a second electrode; a switching transistor having a gate terminal connected to a scan line, a first terminal connected to the data line, and a second terminal connected to the first electrode of the storage capacitor; a light emitting control transistor having a gate terminal connected to a light emitting control line, and the first terminal and the second terminal which are connected to a first power supply voltage; a drive transistor having a gate terminal connected to the first electrode of the storage capacitor, and the first terminal and the second terminal which are connected to the second terminal of the light emitting control transistor; and an organic light emitting diode having and an anode electrode connected to the second terminal of the driving transistor and a cathode electrode connected to a second supply voltage. The second electrode of the storage capacitor is connected to the light emitting control line, and panel distributed compensation voltages are applied to the second electrode of the storage capacitor through the light emitting control line. Therefore, the present invention can reduce power consumption in charging and discharging of the data line.
