Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a system and a method for monitoring a surge protector, capable of monitoring abnormality of the surge protector which protects a wind turbine generation system from lightning. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the system for monitoring a surge protector which protects the wind turbine generator system from lightning includes: a transmitting unit installed in a hub to which a plurality of blades are fixed, wherein the blades are connected to a nacelle installed at the top portion of a tower; the surge protector installed between the blades and the hub, and the hub and the nacelle; a receiving unit receiving a signal transmitted from the transmitting unit through the surge protector; and a controller monitoring whether the protection apparatus is normal on the basis of the signal received by the receiving unit and the signal transmitted from the transmitting unit.
