LOW DENSITY PARITY CHECK DECODER WITH MISCORRECTION HANDLING

A data processing system including a decoder circuit, a syndrome calculation circuit, and a hash calculation circuit is disclosed. The decoder circuit can calculate a codeword by applying a decoding algorithm to a decoder input based on a first part of a complex matrix. The syndrome calculation circuit can calculate syndrome based on a first part of the complex matrix and the codeword. The hash calculation circuit can calculate hash based on a second part of the complex matrix. The decoder circuit is also operable to correct the codeword at least based on the hash when the syndrome indicates that the codeword based on the first part of the complex matrix is correct but a second test indicates that the codeword is miscorrected.
