BIRDCAGE TYPE DUAL RESONANT RF COIL WITH COIL SUB-LEGS, AND THEREOF METHOD

The present invention relates to a dual resonant RF coil for an MRI system and a method for manufacturing the same. The birdcage type dual resonant RF coil having coil auxiliary legs comprises a housing which is made of a hollowed cylindrical transparent plastic material; a coil sheet which is attached to the side surface of the housing in a cylindrical shape and is formed on a flexible printed circuit board with a coil structure of including strip type end coils formed in the upper end and the lower end and strip type coil auxiliary legs that are a plurality of coil legs having respective two auxiliary legs arranged in parallel in a pair form to be connected to the end coils; and a capacitor which is mounted in a gap formed in the end coils and the coil auxiliary legs. With the above simple structure and constitutions, the present invention is able to realize the dual resonant RF coil, generate a good magnetic field and a precise resonant frequency to provide the RF coil for the MRI system having high performance. Furthermore, the present invention provides a method for manufacturing the RF coil which is capable of improving the output stability of an electromagnetic element and is easy for a mass production.
