DOME SWITCH FOR BUTTON OF MOBILE TYPE EQUIPMENT AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME

Disclosed are a dome switch for a button of a mobile terminal and a method of making the same. The dome switch is characterized in that a central contact and two peripheral contacts for the dome switch are exposed while being separated from each other in an FPCB for a portable terminal including a base film and a conductive pattern formed on the base film; on the contacts, a convex elastic metal dome is installed to contact the peripheral contacts and not to contact the central contact; and a dome sheet covering the metal dome is combined to the FPCB with peripheral portions attached to a portion presenting outside the peripheral contacts via the base film and a hardened resin layer, wherein the hardened resin layer may be obtained by irradiating a photopolymer resin layer with light or by heating and solidifying a thermosetting resin layer. According to the present invention, it is possible to reduce post-process failures or malfunction of the dome switch since the introduction of foreign materials into the dome switch can be effectively prevented and the dome sheet can be stably attached to an edge portion of the dome switch when the dome sheet covering the metal dome is combined to a dome switch region for a button of the mobile equipment.
