The present invention relates to a method for driving an emergency generator using an energy storage system, wherein the energy storage system adjusts a load amount when power of the emergency generator is supplied so as to drive the emergency generator at maximum efficiency. The method for driving the emergency generator, according to the present invention, comprises the steps of: adjusting a load amount with pre-stored power in the energy storage system until the emergency generator reaches a preset maximum efficient driving state after the power of the emergency generator has been supplied; and maintaining the driving operation in the maximum efficient driving state when the emergency generator reaches the preset maximum efficient driving state.
