APPARATUS FOR BATTERY CHARGING OF VEHICLE AND METHOD THEREOF

Disclosed are an apparatus and method for charging a battery of a vehicle, capable of charging the mounted battery by converting vibration which is generated in a driving state or a start state of the vehicle (especially, an electric vehicle) into electric energy. The disclosed apparatus for charging the battery of the vehicle includes: an engine RPM sensor which outputs a start state determination signal of the vehicle by sensing an engine RPM; a velocity sensor which senses the velocity of the vehicle; an electric energy generating unit which is mounted on the specific position of the vehicle and converts the vibration which is generated in the start state or the driving state of the vehicle into the electric energy; and a charging control unit which determines the start state of the vehicle with the start state determining signal which is outputted from the engine RPM sensor, determines the stop state or the driving state of the vehicle by the output of the velocity sensor, and charges a main battery or an auxiliary battery with the electric energy which is generated by the electric energy generating unit in the start state or the driving state of the vehicle.
