Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of a binaphthol derivative is provided to efficiently introduce various substituents into hydrogen locations of a 2'-hydroxy group of a 2,2'-binaphthol-3-carboxylic acid and to safely and economically manufacture the binaphthol derivative. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a binaphthol derivative represented by chemical formula 1 includes a step of conduct the reaction of a compound represented by chemical formula 2 and a compound represented by chemical formula 3 in an organic solvent under the presence of a base. The base is an organic base which is triethylamine or tetramethylethylenediamine or an inorganic base selected from NaH, NaOH, KOH, and K2CO3. The organic solvent is selected from N,N-dimethylformamide, dimethylsulfoxide, N-methylpyrrolidine, and tetrahydrofuran.
