PURPOSE: A mobile terminal is provided to sense the various operations of the proximity location, proximity depth, and the proximity status. CONSTITUTION: A proximity sensor (141) comprises a transmitter electrode and a receiver electrode. The transmitter electrode is located in the bezel area. The receiver electrode is separated to the transmitter electrode in a constant interval. The receiver electrode senses an electric signal which is outputted from the transmitter electrode. A control unit (180) generates a proximity touch input signal which is based on the electric signal outputted from the transmitter electrode and the electric signal inputted from the receiver electrode.
