APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ZOOMING TOUCH SCREEN IN ELECTRONIC DEVICE

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for zooming a touch screen in an electronic device are provided to offer a screen zoom-in service for an area desired by a user by considering touch information in an electronic device employing a touch screen, thereby allowing the user of the electronic device to easily use the screen zoom-in service. CONSTITUTION: A controller (100) displays a zoom-in area that is determined based on touch information by zooming into the zoom-in area according to a zoom-in ratio, in response to detecting a touch input through a touch screen. The controller determines the zoom-in area based on multiple touch points associated with multi-touch input, in response to detecting the multi-touch input. When detecting a first touch input, the controller activates a screen zoom-in mode based on a touch duration time of the first input. When detecting a second touch input, the controller determines the zoom-in area based on the second touch input and multiple touch points associated with the second touch input.
