IMPEDANCE MATCHING PEAKING SWITCH FOR VERY FAST RISING HIGH VOLTAGE PULSE

PURPOSE: An impedance matching peaking switch for generating high-voltage fast-rising pulses is provided to remove the effect of impedance mismatching in a pulse voltage rise and to reduce pulse rise time. CONSTITUTION: A front side inner conductor(13) and a rear side inner conductor(12) have a front side electrode(11) and a rear side electrode(10), respectively. An outer conductor(14) is placed around the front side inner conductor and the rear side inner conductor. A rear side insulator(15) and a front side insulator(16) are inserted between the front side and rear side inner conductors and the outer conductor. The rear side insulator is composed of a first matching part(19) in the front side, a third matching part(20) in the rear side, and a second matching part(21). The first matching part has a cross section increasing from the front side to the rear side. The third matching part has a cross section decreasing from the front side to the rear side. The second matching part is inserted between the first matching part and the third matching part.
