PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION FOR ANTICANCER COMPRISING EXTRACT OF SEA CUCUMBER OR ITS FRACTION AS EFFECTIVE COMPONENT

PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing a sea cucumber extract and a fraction thereof for anticancer is provided to prevent and treat cancer without side effects. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating cancer contains a sea cucumber extract or a fraction thereof as an active ingredient. The extract is a methanol extract of cucumber. The extract is prepared by adding 1000-1400 parts by weight of methanol to 4000-5000 parts by weight of freeze-dried sea cucumber, extracting at 55-65 deg. C for 3-5 hours, and concentrating by reduced pressure at 40-50 deg. C. The fraction is prepared by adding n-hexane or n-butanol to the extract.
