A COMPOSITIONS FOR PREVENTING OR TREATING COCCIDIOSIS COMPRISING DANG GUI

PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition or a feed composition containing Angelica gigas Nakai as an active ingredient for preventing or treating coccidiosis is provided to remarkably reduce mortality rate of chickens caused by Eimeria maxima, and to be used as a drug or a feed additive for preventing or treating coccidiosis in livestock, especially in poultry. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating coccidiosis contains Angelica gigas Nakai as an active ingredient. Coccidiosis is caused from poultry. The aerial part of Angelica gigas Nakai is extracted using water, C1-C6 alcohol, or a mixture thereof. A feed contains 0.1-0.5 wt% of Angelica gigas Nakai extract. The root part of Angelica gigas Nakai is powder type. The feed contains 1.0-2.0 wt% of power of the root part. A feed composition for preventing or treating coccidiosis contains the feed composition as an active ingredient.
