ANTI-MICROBIAL EFFECT FROM BOEHMERIA NIVEA EXTRACT AND ITS APPLICANT

PURPOSE: An anti-microbial composition containing ramie extract and an anti-microbial composition containing the same are provided to substitute chemical antiseptic so that the anti-microbial composition can develop an antiseptic system with a wide range of antimicrobial spectrum consisting of plant extracts only. CONSTITUTION: A natural anti-microbial composition includes ramie outpost extract as an active composition. The manufacturing process of the natural anti-microbial composition comprises the following steps: filtering dried sample of ramie powder using 80% of ethanol and filtering the same; and vacuum evaporating the filtered extract and successively adding hexane, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, butanol, and water to the ethanol extract which is completely dried by a freeze drier. The natural anti-microbial composition is obtained by fraction extracting ethyl acetate. The content of the ethyl acetate fraction extract of ramie is 0.05-20.0 wt% based on the total amount.
