IMAGING ARRAY HAVING PHOTODIODES WITH DIFFERENT LIGHT SENSITIVITIES AND ASSOCIATED IMAGE RESTORATION METHODS

PURPOSE: An image array having photodiodes of different optical sensitivities and a related image restoration method are provided to improve the quality and dynamic range of images in bright image areas where generally saturated. CONSTITUTION: A pixel sensor array includes the first multiple pixel sensors and the second multiple pixel sensors. The first multiple pixel sensors have the first optical sensitivity. The second multiple pixel sensors have the second optical sensitivity which is smaller than the first optical sensitivity. The first multiple pixel sensors capture the visual information related to optical sensitivities of a range from low values to high values which are not saturated. The second multiple pixel sensors capture visual information in areas having highlight.
