Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: A selective reduction method of propionic acid impurity is provided to able to reduce propionic acid from acrylic acid stream with high selectivity by using a mixed metal oxide with excellent catalytic activity as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION: A selective reduction method of propionic acid impurity from acrylic acid stream comprises a step of reacting acrylic acid stream under the presence of a propionic acid-reducing mixed metal oxide catalyst comprising a mixed metal oxide in chemical formula: AaMbNcXdZeOf. In chemical formula, A is Mo and/or W, M is V and/or Ce, N is at least one element selected from Nb, Ta, Ti, Al, Zr, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ru, Co, Rh, Ni, Pt, Sb, Bi, B, In, As, Ge, Sn, Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, Fr, Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Ra, Hf, Pb, P, Pm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu, Z is at least one element selected from Zn, Ga, Ir, Sm, Pd, Au, Ag, Cu, Sc, Y, Pr, Nd and Tb, O is oxygen with an oxide shape, if a is 1, b is 0.01-1.0, C is 0.01-1.0, and if d is 0.01-1.0, e is 0-0.1, and f is dependent on oxide states of other elements.
