Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: Duplex stainless steel with an excellent surface quality is provided to roll thick strips up to a target thickness by controlling a reduction ratio and estimating the rolling finish temperature. CONSTITUTION: Duplex stainless steel with an excellent surface quality contains C 0~0.03wt.%, Si 0~1.0wt.%, Mn 0~2.0wt.%, P 0~0.04wt.%, S 0~0.004wt.%, Cu 0~0.5wt.%, Ni 4.5~6.5wt.%, Cr 22~23wt.%, Mo 3.0~3.5wt.%, N 0.14~0.20wt.%, and the rest contains Fe and inevitable impurities. The ratio(Creq/Nieq) of nickel equivalent and chromium equivalent defined according to the following formulas is 2.2~3.0. The formulas are as follows. Nieq=%Ni+30%C+0.5%Mn+0.33%Cu+30(%N-0.045) and Creq=%Cr+%Mo+1.5%Si+0.73%W. Nieq=%Ni+30%C+0.5%Mn+0.33%Cu+30(%N-0.045) and Creq=%Cr+%Mo+1.5%Si+0.73%W. One or more than two selected from a group, which contains Ca 0~0.02wt.%, Ce 0~0.1wt.%, B 0~0.005wt.%, Ti 0~0.5 wt.% are added.
