Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling motor drive and a control method thereof are provided to safely control a motor for a fuel pump by transferring malfunction diagnosis information to other control devices through CAN(Controller Area Network) communications. CONSTITUTION: A voltage current sensing apparatus(20) senses input-output side voltages and currents in a motor. A temperature sensing unit(30) senses the temperature of a motor driving unit. A fuel pressure sensor(40) senses fuel pressure pumped by the drive of the motor. A central processing unit(50) diagnoses the motor. A CAN(Controller Area Network) communication unit(60) transmits malfunction diagnosis information to a main control unit.
