Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: An electronic book device and a method for skimming through an electronic book are provided to easily find pages which a user wants to read by providing a skimming function. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(10) displays e-book contents by one page. A touch sensing unit(20) senses touch input for a front side of the display unit. A controlling unit(30) generates a preview page to a forward direction or a reverse direction based on a currently displayed page if the touch motion of a predetermined pattern is sensed in a certain region of the touch sensing unit while a page of the eBook contents is displayed on the touch sensing unit. Control performs a skimming function of successively displaying the preview page on the display unit according to a predetermined speed.
