Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display apparatus which reduces an afterimage phenomenon and a driving method thereof are provided to eliminate an afterimage or dragging phenomenon while maintaining brightness to a proper level. CONSTITUTION: A display part(10) comprises a plurality of pixels. A gate line is respectively connected to a plurality of pixel columns. A data line is respectively connected to a plurality of pixel rows. A gate driving part(20) creates a plurality of gate signals. The gate driving part operates a switching device. A data driving part(30) applies data voltage to the pixel. A common voltage generation part(40) applies common voltage to the pixel. A turn-on period of the switching device includes first and second periods. A voltage value for generating a black image is stored in the pixel during the first period.
