Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: A method for rapidly mass-producing hydrogen stored in water using amphoteric metals and alloys is provided to generate sustainable energy and to overcome the producing problem, the storing problems, the transferring problem, and the refining problem of hydrogen. CONSTITUTION: A method for rapidly mass-producing hydrogen reacts amphoteric metals and alloys with water and emits hydrogen. The amphoteric metals are obtained by alloying aluminum with one or more of silicon and zinc. The amphoteric metals and the alloys are represented by formula, xAl-ySi-wZn. In the formula, the x is 60 to 100 weight%; the y is 0 to 40 weight%; and the sum of the y and the w is not zero. The xAl-ySi-wZn is Al, Ai-Si, Al-Zn, or Al-Si-Zn. The amphoteric metals and alloys further include caustic soda.
