Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: A method for recycling tungsten carbide from waste cemented carbide by using pressurized molten zinc is provided to facilitate reaction between cobalt and zinc by sealing a crucible with a cover to increase the pressure of the crucible. CONSTITUTION: A method for recycling tungsten carbide from waste cemented carbide by using pressurized molten zinc is as follows. A crucible(120) containing waste cemented carbide and zinc is loaded into a chamber(110) of an electric furnace(100), wherein the crucible is sealed to restrict the evaporation of zinc. The chamber is heated to a temperature which is higher than the melting point of zinc and lower than the boiling point of zinc. Zinc reacts with cobalt of waste cemented carbide so that cobalt-zinc melt is formed and tungsten carbide is settled down on the bottom of the crucible. The crucible is tilted and the liquid cobalt-zinc is poured out. The chamber is heated to a temperature which is higher than the boiling point of zinc and lower than the melting point of tungsten carbide, thereby volatilizing zinc component. Tungsten carbide-cobalt chamber, obtained by cooling the chamber, is pulverized. The tungsten carbide-cobalt powder is processed with a phosphate solution to remove the residual zinc.
